Friends said that she loved to document her life on social media, but no one could have imagined her tragic end.
On December 28, Keiana Herndon, 26, was holding her one-year-old son, Rylee, and streaming on Facebook Live from her friend's house in El Dorado, Arkansas. Initially, the video seemed relatively normal with the new year just days away, but things quickly took a disturbing turn for the worst.
The video has since been removed from Facebook.
Herndon, who worked as an aide at a rehabilitation center had over 3,400 Facebook friends, however, it's not known how many people were watching the video stream when she died. "I put on some house shoes and a pair of trousers and got into the auto and drove to the hospital".
One of her viewers, aunt Barbara Johnson, noticed her niece acting strangely. 'I don't have the strength to watch it right now, ' he said.
Since Keiana Herndon's death was broadcasted to social media users on Facebook Live, there are rumors circulating about the nature of her death.
Herndon's mother recalls the moment she heard about her daughter.
"She had thyroid problems".
"The thyroid messes with everything and it triggered her heart", Morgan told KATV. "It's a tragedy, I know that much, and I know one thing, I would love to have my baby back with me", said Morgan.
Although Herndon's official cause of death has yet to be determined, thyroid complications can greatly impact the functions of the heart. An autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
A friend set up a Gofundme has been set up to help her two young boys, Ja'Kylan and Rylee.
